Explanation Of Abbreviations

Player versus Player combat is sometimes fast and hectic and so is it’s way of communication. Instead of eloquently describing an idea, people rather use abbreviations. It is a key element to understand these, in order to know what your team is up to. Below you will find a handy little list, which outlines their meanings.

AAAuto Attack
AFKAway From KeyboardThe player isn't active anymore, but remains logged it.
AoEArea Of EffectA skill, which targets creatures within a radius.
BuffA beneficial spell, which is gained from the bosses of the map Forest of Niflhel.
BuildThe setup and the skills of a player, which include the runes, sigils, weapons, traits and attributes.
Boon RipTaking away boons or converting them into condition.
BunkerA player, who plays a very defensive build in order to defend objectives.
BurstA huge amount of damage within a very short period of time.
CapCaptureCapturing an objective.
CCCrowd ControlA skill, which hinders the player from doing actions. (Example: Fear)
CloseThe objective, which lies the closest to the spawn.
DPSDamage Per SecondThe damage a player or creature does within a second. Often used to describe an offensive build. (Example: The guardian doesn't play bunker, he's DPS)
FarThe objective, which lies the farthest away from the spawn of the own team.
Decap"De-capturing"Capturing an objective, which belongs to the enemy team. (Example: The enemy team has decaped our point.)

FPSFrames Per SecondThe number of frames the computer can render within a second.
GearEquipmentArmor and weapons of the player.
GGGood Game

HammerSkyhammerThe siege weapon of the map "Skyhammer".
HomeAnother word for "Close".
HotMHeart of the MistsThe main hub for player versus player content.
IncIncoming
KDKnock DownImmobilizing and limiting an enemies actions through a skill, which smashes them on the ground.

Lord RushKilling the enemy lord on the map "Legacy of Foefire" in order to get 150 points.

Noob / NewbieA new playerOften used to describe a player who doesn't play well.
OOCOut Of CombatA player who left the combat. Often in order to regenerate or retreat.
PBAoEPoint Blank Area of EffectWorks like AoE, but doesn't allow you to select a radius with the mouse. (Example: A shout skill, which targets everything around the player.)
PUGPick Up GroupA group of random players, which don't know each other.
PvPPlayer Versus PlayerA game mode, which focuses on players who are fighting other players.
SnareA skill, which slows down the movement speed of a player.
SpikeA huge amount of damage within a very short period of time.
StunA skill which hinders the player from all actions.
